Maurice A.
Richard entered the professional world in Canada and started young
in his father footsteps. Philippe Richard a self made, shaft
sinking expert worked worldwide as an associate, contractor and
consultant for a major brand name of the 19th century
mining world. Honesty, loyalty, integrity, leadership with team
effort, safety and hard work were necessary for success and
survival in a dangerous business.

Served his apprentice period as an underground sampler, chemist
and mill operator in the uranium field of Elliot Lake, Ontario.
Worked the iron ore mines of Labrador as a Pellet Plant operator
and redesigned and rebuilt the Lurgi furnaces. As Project Engineer,
built a bunker C tank farm and pellet plant in Sept Isles,
Quebec.

Emigrated to
the U.S. in 1964 as Pellet Plant Supervisor at Eagle Mountain,
California. Served as Special Project Manager responsible Beneficiation
retrofits and General Foreman of operation.

Built the
Island Copper Project concentrator on Vancouver Island and was
responsible for Operation. Coordinated the extraction process with
mining activities.

Metallurgical manager for the Pitch project in Colorado, the first
belt filter dry tailings disposal approved by the NRC and
Colorado. Managed Dravo as the project engineer and opted to toll
ore to Grants, New Mexico.

Built
Burning Star #5 coal preparation plant in Southern Illinois;
integrated tipple and mining; served as Mid West Region Preparation
Manager.

Served as Paris based,
Metallurgist and Owner Representative for Niger, Northwest
Africa’s Imoraren project with extensive South and Northwest Africa
travel. Managed Fluor/Krebs as the engineer.

Metallurgist
and Engineer for the Crownpoint project in New Mexico. He managed
Davy McKee as the project engineer. Built the first of the kind
kinetic hydrometallurgical software for uranium extraction.
